Grafing (dpa / lby) – A dispute between several young men escalated at a train station near Munich and ended in the track bed. Only the intervention of witnesses is said to have stopped the 22-year-old drunk attacker on Sunday morning from continuing to beat the victim lying on the track, as the federal police announced on Monday.

The dispute broke out on the S-Bahn towards Ebersberg between the suspect and the 21-year-old victim – the two also hit each other with their fists. Another man got involved at the train station in Grafing and also kicked the 21-year-old until he fell to the ground, police said. The 22-year-old is said to have pushed the man lying on the ground onto the track and continued to hit him. The victim suffered a laceration and had to be taken to the hospital. The police are investigating the 22-year-old.
