Schwerin (dpa/mv) – The Bundesliga volleyball players from SSC Palmberg Schwerin started the CEV Cup with clear success. On Wednesday, the team coached by Felix Koslowski defeated the Zeleznicar Lajkovac team from Serbia in the first leg of the round of the top 32 clubs 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-2) and thus has the best chance of achieving the Round of 16. The second leg will take place on December 21st.

After the 5:4 in the meantime, the Mecklenburg women dominated the events in the first round and were able to continuously break away from the guests. The SSC finally used the second of eleven set balls to take a 1-0 lead.

The second round was initially balanced as well. With a 6:0 run to 12:6, the SSC created a decisive cushion. Although Zeleznicar Lajkovac reduced the deficit to two points later on, Schwerin also secured the second set.

Only in the third period did the guests act at eye level for a long time. With the second match ball, however, Schwerin won the game.
