Krefeld (dpa / lnw) – The men arrested after the shooting of a 42-year-old in Krefeld are free again. Further investigations have shown that they are no longer considered urgent suspects. They were therefore released from custody, the police and public prosecutor announced on Thursday in Krefeld.

The police had arrested two 20 and 26-year-old men from the drug scene. A magistrate sent both of them into custody on suspicion of manslaughter. The police did not want to say what they are said to have relieved, so as not to jeopardize further investigations.

A 41-year-old Albanian was shot in the head in a street in downtown Krefeld a week and a half ago. Witnesses heard several shots and saw two men running away in the dark. The man who was shot was known to police for drug and property crimes.
