2 men charged with beating neighbor during dispute

TRENTON — A dispute that led to a street fight on Genesee Street left one man in the hospital and two men under arrest Monday night into Tuesday morning, Trenton police said.

The incident began Tuesday when a 48-year-old man surfaced at St. Francis Medical Center’s emergency room with serious head injuries, including a number of cuts to his face and scalp, police said.

Police were called at about 6:55 p.m. and the man said he got into an argument with a neighbor named “Eric,” who struck him with some type of weapon, police said.

Hours later, the victim was released from the hospital with numerous stitches and went home, to the 1000 block of Genesee, in the Franklin Park neighborhood.

At about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, and again at 1:30 a.m., the victim called police and said he saw his attackers.

Officers investigated each time and arrested both men. Police said both allegedly assaulted the victim, repeatedly hittiing him in the head with unknown objects.

Clinton Geddis and Eric Plantier, 26, were each charged with second-degree aggravated assault and related weapon possession charges. Geddis’ age was not immediately available. Both live in the 1000 block of Genesee Street.
