Offenbach (dpa / lsw) – According to initial evaluations, autumn 2022 was the second warmest in Baden-Württemberg since measurements began in 1881. “The main reason was the warmest October and November also turned the thermostat up,” said the German Weather Service (DWD) on Wednesday in Offenbach. With a provisional average temperature of 11.2 degrees, the autumn in the southwest was well above the mean of the international reference period 1961 to 1990 of 8.5 degrees.

For meteorologists, autumn ends in November. According to the calendar, it lasts until December 21st.

The sun shone 358 hours this fall. The average sunshine duration is 344 hours. In total, 262 liters of precipitation per square meter fell in Baden-Württemberg. The average for previous years is only 219 liters. In Utzenfeld in the southern Black Forest, 86 liters per square meter had the highest rainfall in Germany on October 14 of this year.
