Baden-Württemberg: Forgot a pot of oil: 250,000 euros in damage

Tuttlingen (dpa / lsw) – A pot with oil on a switched-on stove is said to have caused a fire in Tuttlingen. As the police announced on Monday, the fire broke out on Sunday evening on the upper floor of a semi-detached house. From there, the flames spread to the attic. The five residents of the affected apartment were able to leave the house in time.

The fire brigade moved out with several vehicles and 60 forces and put out the fire. Rescue workers treated a 72-year-old who had sustained minor smoke injuries. According to the police, there was damage of around 250,000 euros. Fire and extinguishing water also affected a hairdresser’s shop on the ground floor.

The residents of the fire apartment were housed elsewhere by the city. The police are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
