Biberach (dpa / lsw) – Mario Glaser has been elected the new district administrator of the Biberach district. The non-party mayor of the Schemmerhofen district was the only candidate, according to a spokesman for the district office in Biberach. The 43-year-old received the absolute majority of the 57-member district council on Tuesday in the first ballot with 47 votes.
The incumbent district administrator Heiko Schmid (free voters) was not present at the election due to illness. He had previously announced that he would not run for another term. Glaser will take over the post of district administrator in the fall.
