Baden-Württemberg: Men bite police officers when arrested

Lahr (dpa / lsw) – A group of around 20 people is said to have defied the instructions of the police officers and attacked and bitten the officers during arrests. The group known to the police had previously threatened a man in a restaurant in Lahr (Ortenaukreis), a spokesman said on Monday.

The men are said to have insulted and threatened the officers. Only when reinforcements arrived was a dismissal enforced. Two men were arrested. They are said to have injured two officers with a bite, among other things.

In addition, four men in the group who fled during the measures on Sunday injured a man in the vicinity of the restaurant. He had to be taken to a clinic. It was initially unclear whether it was the threatened man in the restaurant. It has not yet been clarified why the group had threatened the man.
