Baden-Württemberg: Stuttgart handball player with a minimum goal of twelfth place

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Handball Bundesliga club TVB Stuttgart is aiming for a place among the top twelve teams in the coming season. After the club has established itself in the Handball Bundesliga (HBL), it is time to set new goals, explained TVB Managing Director Jürgen Schweikardt at a press conference on Tuesday. “You can’t say: It should always be the goal not to relegate.” The Swabians finished 15th last season.

The Stuttgart have strengthened for the new season well-known. For example, national goalkeeper Silvio Heinevetter moved from Bundesliga rivals MT Melsungen to Neckar. In addition, the TVB signed circle player Oscar Bergendahl from top Danish club GOG Håndbold, who won the European Championship with the Swedish national team at the beginning of the year. The new HBL season begins for the Stuttgart team on September 4th away from the German record champions THW Kiel.

Twelfth place should only be an interim goal for coach Roi Sánchez’s team. In 2024, the TVB wants to be among the top ten teams in the HBL. With the strong development of many Bundesliga locations, this is not an easy task, said Schweikardt.
