Baden-Württemberg: the bus driver falls asleep and crashes into the bus stop

Friedrichshafen (dpa / lsw) – A bus driver crashed into a bus stop in Friedrichshafen (Lake Constance district) because of a suspected microsleep and completely demolished it. The driver and two passengers suffered minor injuries. According to the police, the driver was treated in a hospital on Monday and was also interrogated there about the course of the accident. He is now threatened with the withdrawal of his driving license on suspicion of endangering road traffic. The two slightly injured women were treated on site. Luckily no one was waiting at the now demolished stop at the time of the accident. About 10 people were on board the bus. According to the police, damage at the bus stop amounted to 10,000 euros. The damage to the bus amounts to around 40,000 euros.
