Walddorfhäslach (dpa/lsw) – The car of a 30-year-old burned out completely in a hiking car park near Walddorfhäslach (Reutlingen district). After he noticed the smell of gasoline while driving and drove into the parking lot, flames were already coming out of the engine, the police said. The man was able to get out of the car in time and was unharmed.
Because he had left his cell phone in the car, he stopped other drivers who were making an emergency call. When firefighters arrived, the entire car was on fire. The cause of the fire was initially unclear. The car was towed away and the road was briefly closed for the duration of the extinguishing work.
