Schönau am Königssee (dpa/lby) – Two people in Upper Bavaria were injured when a horse-drawn carriage fell into a river. The horses suffered a shock and had to be rescued from the water, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
The two coachmen were traveling in Schönau am Königssee (Berchtesgadener Land district) when the turntable of the steering braked the horses during a turning manoeuvre. According to the police, the angry animals then pulled the carriage into the Königsseer Ache, causing the two drivers to fall. They were taken to hospital by ambulance and helicopter with moderate injuries.
