Treuchtlingen (dpa/lby) – After a dead woman was found in an asylum accommodation in Central Franconia, a suspect is now in custody. On Monday, an investigating judge issued an arrest warrant against the 35-year-old, a police spokesman said in the afternoon. According to previous knowledge, the man was the partner of the 28-year-old woman. The autopsy showed that the woman found in Treuchtlingen (Weissenburg-Gunzenhausen district) died violently, the spokesman said.

The Ethiopian came to the police station in Treuchtlingen on Sunday and, according to the police, said he had killed a woman in an apartment nearby. The officials then found the dead in the asylum accommodation and arrested the 35-year-old. The public prosecutor’s office in Ansbach then filed an application for arrest against the man.

As the police spokesman said, the police officers also found the suspect’s underage son in the asylum home and handed the child over to the care of the youth welfare office.
