Bavaria: Death of a woman after visiting a club: looking for clues in the river

A young woman is found dead in a river after visiting a club – kilometers away from the village. In order to get further in the determination of the perpetrator, the Kripo is now also looking for traces in the water.

Aschau/Prien (dpa/lby) – After the violent death of a young woman after visiting a club in Upper Bavaria, the police and divers searched the river on Thursday where the 23-year-old’s body was found. The search for clues in Prien in the Rosenheim district began in the late morning, said a police spokesman.

In the afternoon it was not yet clear whether anything essential had been found during the forensic investigation. The items secured in the river would first have to be evaluated, the police spokesman explained.

The body of the 23-year-old from Aschau im Chiemgau was found on Monday in the Prien. The victim had previously celebrated at a club in her hometown. Hours later, a passer-by discovered the young woman’s body – about ten kilometers from the club in a district of Prien am Chiemsee.

The police divers should now examine the entire stretch of the river between the two towns. The investigators do not rule out that the victim was carried along in the water. At the weekend, the water level was higher than last due to the heavy rainfall, the police spokesman explained.

The investigators were also busy on Thursday evaluating several dozen tips that had been received after the woman’s death. “The investigators now have to check and verify that,” said the police spokesman. “As of now, however, there is nothing that would be interesting.”

It was initially unclear whether the act was a sexual offense. About 40 investigators are trying to clarify the homicide. The police have also set up a portal for collecting photos and videos from the club.
