Bad Kissingen (dpa / lby) – Minister of Health Klaus Holetschek (CSU) promotes timely help for mental problems. “One often has the feeling that the challenges never end,” said the minister on Saturday at the start of the 25th Bad Kissingen Health Days under the motto “Let off your stress!”. He referred to the burdens caused by the corona pandemic, the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine and climate change. “It is therefore all the more important to ensure that this stress does not make us ill. It is now important to pay more attention to mental health and, if necessary, to get expert support at an early stage,” advised Holetschek.

The minister called diseases such as depression or anxiety disorders common diseases. Anyone can get into a psychological emergency, for example due to existential fears, worries, being overwhelmed in everyday life or loneliness.

“Many suicides can be prevented if those affected receive quick and effective help,” said Holetschek. Modern care structures with low-threshold, local and early options for support and treatment are therefore necessary. He described the crisis services as important in this context.
