Bavaria: Train derailed when maneuvering: federal police determined

Munich (dpa / lby) – After a regional train derailed during a shunting trip at Munich Central Station, the federal police are investigating. There were no injuries because the train was traveling without passengers on the way to the siding on Monday evening, officials said. According to initial investigations, the shunting attendant did not recognize a red signal, and the train driver was unable to stop the train in time. Two wagons ran over a blocked track and derailed.

Deutsche Bahn wanted to rescue the train that had an accident at Hackerbrücke on Tuesday if possible. The amount of damage has not yet been determined, but according to the police, the track bed and railway sleepers as well as the signal and the two wagons were significantly damaged. It is now being determined because of the danger to rail traffic.
