Raubling (dpa / lby) – During construction work, a 250-kilo bomb from the Second World War was found in the community of Raubling. The aerial bomb is to be defused on Wednesday night, as the Rosenheim district office announced on Tuesday evening. The nearby A8 will be blocked at the Rosenheim junction, and major traffic disruptions are to be expected. The railway line between Rosenheim and Kufstein will also be closed.

According to the information, the police and fire brigade have already started to cordon off the area within a radius of 500 meters around the site on Breiteicher Straße. About 1,000 residents of the surrounding houses are to be taken out of their homes. A retirement home with 28 residents was also affected, it said.

According to the district office, the bomb was found in the late afternoon during construction work in the Pfraundorf district.
