Bavaria: Young man dies after alleged drug deal

Munich (dpa / lby) – A young man was seriously injured in a suspected drug deal in Munich and later died. As the police announced on Monday, the 21-year-old drove with a 16-year-old friend from Coburg to the state capital to buy drugs there. According to the information, the older man disappeared with a man in an apartment on Saturday – but the 21-year-old dragged himself out of it, seriously injured, and collapsed. A passer-by alerted the emergency services and the police. The young man succumbed to his injuries in a clinic on Sunday.

The police initially did not want to say how exactly the 21-year-old was injured – for reasons of tactical investigation, it was said. Despite a major manhunt, officials were initially unable to arrest a suspect. The police are now looking for three suspicious men who are said to have been involved in the business.

The 16-year-old from Upper Franconia was not physically injured and cooperated with the investigators, as a police spokesman said. From his statements, the officials deduced that the duo traveled from Coburg to Munich to buy drugs there. The police are also investigating against the youth.
