Bayern: Tommy Haas on a home visit: ex-tennis pro wins game

Munich (dpa / lby) – The former world-class tennis player Tommy Haas led the men’s 30-Bundesliga team of TC Großhesselohe to victory. The ex-world number two and silver medalist at the Sydney Olympics easily won his singles 6-0, 6-0 over the weekend. Haas also won in doubles and gave his club a total of two points in an 8-1 win over Frankfurt.

“It’s always nice for me to go out on the pitch and feel the adrenaline,” said the 44-year-old, who had traveled from Paris at short notice. Haas is now the tournament director of the Indian Wells ATP tournament and lives with his family in the USA.

In the table of the 1st Bundesliga South Großhesselohe is third after three matchdays. In the men’s 30 division, tennis players who are 30 years of age or older are eligible to play.
