Franco Colapinto is eagerly looking forward to the upcoming United States Grand Prix, which marks the start of four races closer to his home country of Argentina. The rookie driver has been making waves since Williams promoted him over Logan Sargeant at Monza last month, achieving impressive results with three top-12 finishes and four points in his first three races. Colapinto’s presence as the first Argentinian driver in nearly 25 years has garnered massive support from fans in South America, which he expects to intensify during the upcoming races in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil.

Expressing his excitement, Colapinto shared, “I have always raced in Europe, with maybe a weekend in Australia, but never in America, which is closest to my home. These three rounds are very special to me. While racing in Argentina would be a dream come true, these races are the closest I can get. I know many fans will be here, in Mexico, and in Brazil, so it will almost feel like a home race, especially in Brazil. I am thrilled about it.”

The overwhelming support from his Argentinian fans has left Colapinto feeling proud and inspired. He remarked, “The fans in Argentina are going crazy, and the support I receive is incredibly special. It motivates me and pushes me to perform better. Their enthusiasm and excitement are truly heartwarming. I am proud to be representing Argentina in Formula 1 and inspiring young fans to pursue motorsport in our country.”

Despite enjoying the immense backing from fans, Colapinto admitted that it has been a challenge to adjust to his newfound fame. He shared, “I don’t see myself as a hero; I still feel like the same person I was two years ago when no one knew me. It’s a bit overwhelming when people recognize me and want pictures. I have to be more cautious about my daily activities now. It has its ups and downs. I hope to get used to it with time.”

Colapinto’s presence in Formula 1 has not only captured the attention of fans but also contributed to the growth of motorsport in Argentina. His success on the global stage has inspired young enthusiasts to pursue their passion for racing, further solidifying the country’s love for sports. As Colapinto continues to make his mark in the world of Formula 1, his journey serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for aspiring drivers in Argentina and beyond.
