Disgraced ex-Portland mayor who lied about relationship with Adolescent boy is Coming to Town hall

Who had been ensnared in a sexual scandal while in office, could go back to function at Mayor Ted Wheeler’s government, according to media accounts.

It was uncertain what job Adams would take on.

The possible hiring was reported earlier this month from the Oregonian. Emails to Adams and Wheeler’s office weren’t immediately returned.

Adams, 57, occurred in 2009 after serving as the chief of staff for overdue Mayor Vera Katz for virtually 3 terms and working to the City Council. His tenure in office was marred by a scandal involving an alleged sexual relationship with a young guy that began when he was a teen.

Prosecutors investigated claims that the relationship started before the guy, Beau Breedlove, turned 18, the paper reported. No charges had been brought against Adams.

Breedlove was a Salem legislative intern when both first met in 2005. Adams denied the connection once the Willamette Week first reported that the allegations in 2007.

He didn’t seek out re-election after occupying two remember efforts. After leaving City Hall, Adams worked to get a nonprofit in Washington D.C., which concentrates on climate change problems.

He abandoned 2017 after being accused of sexual harassment by a former mayor staffer.
