A drone surveyed the Poesten Kill Monday as city firefighters continued to search the gorge and creek for a missing man who fell into the waters Saturday.

The Albany County Sheriff’s Office flew the drone and recorded the scene from the gorge west toward the Hudson River.

Firefighters also searched along the Poesten Kill’s banks during the third day of the search.

Assistant Fire Chief Eric McMahon said the high water in the creek has hampered efforts. He said search conditions are improving as water levels fall and the creek becomes less turbulent.

The video taken by the sheriff’s office rescue team will be studied to narrow down possible search areas.

Officials said they have not yet determined the identity of the man who was reported missing. No one has called to report a missing individual.

Eyewitnesses reported Satuday that they saw a man climbing up the rocks in the gorge behind the area of the Cookie Factory on Congress Street fall into the gorge.
