Extremadura Arrested in Cáceres a false doctor who had previously been convicted of similar acts

The Civil Guard has arrested a man in his 60s (Eduardo G.C.) in Cáceres, accused of crimes of falsifying an official document and professional intrusion. Not even a previous sentence to 18 months in prison for the same events that occurred years before in Huelva has prevented him from being a repeat offender. He had another similar precedent in Murcia, where he worked for several years without having a degree. He really was a professor but he was posing as a doctor and had been using a false title and number for years.

His latest maneuver has occurred in Alagón del Río (Cáceres), where for a few days, specifically since May 2, he worked as a substitute doctor, a position to which he applied after the sick leave of another doctor from the Health Area of Plasencia. And he was hired, on a temporary basis, until discovered. For the moment he has been provisionally released pending trial.

The complaint before the Civil Guard was filed on Friday by the Extremadura Health Service (SES), due to “well-founded suspicions” that his Medicine degree, supposedly issued by a Spanish university, and his registration were false. She is accused of professional intrusion and documentary falsification.

Specifically, according to the Extremaduran administration, “the SES detected some inconsistencies in the documentation, which were confirmed false in the available registration records and in the Ministry of Health.”

In parallel, the SES has started an investigation to see how many patients he has been able to attend to during these days that he worked as a doctor and if he was able to prescribe any medication for some of them. The College of Physicians of Cáceres is studying to present itself as a private prosecution in the case.
