Facebook reports new difficulties to access your services

Facebook has reported this Friday that some users were having problems accessing their services, just a few days after having suffered a mass failure.

“We are aware that some people and companies are having problems accessing Facebook products,” said a spokesman for the social network.

“We are working so that things come back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

Facebook did not give details about the cause or scope of the problems, which caused users to put on Twitter to express their frustration.

“What’s up with Instagram?”, I said a tuit that included an image of the cartoon character Bart Simpson sitting on a corner in apparent punishment.
“They have not passed or four days and he is already fallen again.”

The Internet failure tracker Downdetector showed peaks in the reports of access to facebook and to their network instagram, as well as Messenger and WhatsApp.

“Problems with Instagram, Facebook, Facebook Messenger and whatsapp again!”, I lamented a user in a Downdetector forum.

Hundreds of millions of people could not access Facebook, Instagram or Whatsapp for more than six hours on Monday, in a massive blackout that revealed the global dependence on the platforms owned by the Silicon Valley giant.

SANTOSH Janardhan, Vice President of Facebook infrastructure, said on the business blog that the interruption of that day was caused by “configuration changes” in the routers that coordinate network traffic between data centers.
