Finnair is growing its global presence by adding more long-haul flights from its Helsinki hub to both America and Asia next summer. The airline will have its largest ever U.S. schedule from Helsinki in 2025 and flights to Asia will also be at their highest levels since 2019.

Starting from March 30, 2025, traveling to Japan will be more convenient as Finnair will increase flights from Helsinki to Osaka to daily, up from five weekly flights this summer. This increase in flights will support Osaka’s position on the global stage as the city prepares to host World Expo 2025. The airline will also add more flights to its newest long-haul route to Nagoya, doubling services from twice per week to four times weekly.

In addition to Japan, Finnair is also planning to operate daily flights to both Tokyo-Haneda and Tokyo-Narita airports next summer, offering customers a choice of 25 weekly flights between Europe and Japan. Flights to China will see a boost as well, with the Helsinki to Shanghai service increasing to four times weekly from three times weekly this summer.

Finnair will also expand its transatlantic offering, with two-thirds of the airline’s North American destinations receiving extra flights. Direct flights to Dallas will increase to up to 11 weekly flights in summer 2025, an 83% increase from this summer’s six weekly flights. The popular route to Los Angeles will see flights increase to five times per week, up from three times per week in summer 2024. Chicago will have daily flights next summer, up from five times per week, and Seattle will receive two extra weekly flights during peak periods, bringing the service up to five times weekly in 2025.

Anssi Partanen, Finnair’s Market Director Europe, expressed excitement about the airline’s expanded long-haul schedule to Asia and the U.S. for summer 2025. He emphasized the importance of Finnair’s increased presence in China and Japan, including the new route to Nagoya, as well as the significance of the extra flights with the upcoming World Expo in Japan. Finnair’s commitment to connecting customers between Europe, Asia, and the U.S. is evident in the expansion of their transatlantic routes and increased frequencies to various North American destinations.

Overall, Finnair’s plans for summer 2025 promise a sensational travel experience for customers, with more options for seamless connections to Asia and the U.S., reflecting the airline’s position as a leading long-haul carrier.
