Florida's MacDill Air Force Base makes Fantasy come true for Woman, 5, Offset cancer Combat

A 5-year-old woman fighting cancer achieved her dream of getting a U.S. Air Force honorary pilot week as a result of Florida’s MacDill Air Force Base and the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

Honorary Capt. Lately Young had been given her requests for a pilot-for-the-day by Col. Benjamin Jonsson, 6th ARW commander, according to a Facebook article by the foundation on Tuesday.

“Ever managed to create her dream of getting a U.S. Air Force pilot come true,” the foundation composed.

She toured a KC-135 Stratotanker and the Air Traffic Control Tower.

Pictures of her trip had been submitted by MacDill on its FB page.

“What an incredible story! Congratulations to everyone who went above and beyond to Provide a little woman some pleasure during a Challenging time in her entire life,” one person wrote

“All these sorts of stories is exactly what our military is about. Congratulations to all of the women and men of the 6th AWC MacDill, AFB,” another responded.
