Gender violence Equality warns of the collection of belongings as a moment of maximum risk

After a black summer of sexist violence, the Ministry of Equality has met this morning for the fifth time since its creation the crisis committee to analyze all the homicides that occurred in the month of August, in which seven women have lost their lives at the hands of their partners or ex-partners. For her part, the Secretary of State for Equality, Ángela Rodríguez, has underlined “the usefulness of the crisis committee and what it has to do with its scope”, explaining that the meeting has focused on detecting risk factors that allow avoiding future sexist murders and highlighting that, as a novelty, in today’s committee the moment in which the woman goes to the house that she shared with her partner to collect her belongings has come to be considered as a situation of special risk, and has proposed that « institutionalization of accompaniment” for women in this situation of particular vulnerability.
