Givors (Rhone). Dismantling heroin and cocaine trafficking

Recent days have seen the end of a heroin and cocaine traffic that was established in Givors for several weeks and had already generated several tens to thousands of euros in turnover.

The investigation started on May 23 when a Givors pharmacist became concerned by the presence of two armed men inside a car. The Givors police station quickly intervened and took these men into custody. They were carrying an alarm pistol that was a replica Beretta automatic pistol. They also had a few grams of cocaine in their vehicle. Investigators found an Albanian national suspected of selling them the product. The suspect and his partner were both found in an unusual situation. They were driving a Peugeot 307 stationwagon when they were quickly arrested. The couple were taken into custody by police. At their home, investigators found two hundred cosmetic products from major brands, valued at approximately 10,000 euros.

A dog trained in searching for narcotics in banknotes was sent to search their car. The search proved especially fruitful as 120,000 euros were found in the vehicle.

An investigation revealed a lucrative drug trade in heroin and cocaine, which led to the opening a judicial probe.

A Ligerian couple and an Albanian couple were indicted. The men were placed in prison and the woman was put under judicial supervision.
