Haute-Savoie. A map of Annecy to help you find all the shops

“It’s not quite a revolutionary, but it’s a huge development for the city, Annecy,” exclaimed Thierry Race, president and founder of Les Vitrines d’Annecy. She presented the first version of Annecy’s shopping cartography on Thursday, June 2. Currently, Annecy’s hypercentre is the only one represented, but all Annecy shops should be included within two years.

Inspired by a London system, this paper map shows the district’s commercial offerings in a fun way using a color code. Each color represents a specific business sector. All businesses will initially be visible on the map. However, merchants will need to contribute 50 euros annually in order for them to remain visible on it.

The map’s purpose is to identify signs that are not visible. It is located in the middle of the city and is very popular among locals. It is often difficult to find your way around when it is busy on Saturdays and during sales periods. You can also find shops in the city and circulate around the surrounding areas.

This map will be available in shops, at the town hall, hotels and campsites. However, the municipality will work with them to make street furniture accessible on the streets. You can also access the map online by using the QR code located on the back of your paper copy.

The project is in its initial stages, but it is on the verge of developing. A variety of ideas were suggested for development, including a presentation in multiple languages, an app, and a geolocation system.
