Hesse: 100,000 people at Schlossgrabenfest: the police are satisfied

Darmstadt (dpa/lhe) – At the end of this year’s Schlossgrabenfest, the Darmstadt police drew a positive balance. “Fortunately, the approximately 100,000 visitors behaved in an exemplary manner, with a few exceptions,” it said on Whit Monday. The festival was generally quiet and peaceful. There were isolated incidents, mainly in the late evening hours.

According to the police, 64 people who were noticed, for example, because of aggressive bullying, were sent off. 24 preliminary investigations were initiated, for example for violations of the Narcotics Act or for bodily harm.

After a two-year pandemic break, the Schlossgrabenfest took place from June 2nd to 5th in the city of Darmstadt. Howard Carpendale, Milow and Alice Merton, among others, performed on the stages. For the first time, tickets were sold for the previously free spectacle.
