Hesse: robbery and murder of jewelry dealers: verdict expected

Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) – In the trial for the robbery and murder of a jewelry dealer from Frankfurt, the verdict is expected today at the Frankfurt Regional Court. Prosecutors have asked for a life sentence for the 32-year-old suspect. Together with three other accomplices who have already been convicted, he is said to have attacked the 78-year-old and his wife of the same age in October 2017 in their house in the Griesheim district. Both victims were severely abused. While the wife survived, the man died of his injuries.

The public prosecutor assumes, among other things, murder out of greed and attempted murder and robbery resulting in death. The accused Moldovan fled after the crime. After his arrest in Russia and subsequent extradition to Germany, he had to answer before the Assize Court since December 2021.
