Hesse: Stormy weather in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland

Offenbach (dpa/lhe) – In Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, people can expect mild and stormy weather at the turn of the year. Thursday starts cloudy with some showers, as the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach announced. The temperatures rise to 7 to 13 degrees. According to the DWD, strong to stormy gusts are possible, which weaken in the afternoon. During the night it rains at first, before it loosens up over the course of the day. Then fog is possible locally. Temperatures drop to 6 to 3 degrees.

According to the meteorologists, there will also be a lot of clouds on Friday. In the first half of the day it will remain mostly dry, in the course of the afternoon the rain will return from the west. The wind picks up again. Strong to stormy gusts are to be expected, especially in the mountains, and severe gusts of wind are also possible on crests. The temperatures rise to 8 to 11 degrees. During the night it rains intermittently and it remains windy. The lows are between 11 and 7 degrees.

At the turn of the year on Saturday it will remain cloudy and rainy in some areas. The meteorologists predict unusually mild temperatures of between 14 and 18 degrees for New Year’s Eve.
