Hillsborough home damaged by fire that started in a stove

HILLSBOROUGH – A Millstone River Road home was damaged on Thursday in a Bahis Siteleri kitchen fire that began in a stove, police said Friday morning.

The fire, reported at 1:08 p.m., began in a stove. The only resident at the home, an 82-year-old woman, was not inside the home and no injuries were reported, police said. A portion of Millstone River Road was closed for two-and-a-half hours because of the fire and investigation.

Although the fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters, the home’s kitchen had moderate damage, police said.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by township police and the township’s Fire Safety Bureau. It does not appear to be suspicious, police said.

Responding to the blaze were township police, Hillsborough Fire Department Units 36, 37 and 38, Neshanic Fire Department 48, Millstone Valley Fire Department 28, Elizabeth Ave Fire Department 26, Hillsborough Rescue Squad, Somerville Rescue Squad, Montgomery Rescue Squad, Hillsborough Office of Emergency Management, the township’s Fire Safety Bureau and Building Department.
