Immigration A total of 33 immigrants manage to swim across the Ceuta border from Morocco

A total of 33 immigrants have reached the coast of Ceuta from Morocco by swimming since the early hours of this Saturday.

According to police sources, the last entry took place around 1:00 p.m. this Saturday, and they are two immigrants from Algeria and another two from Syria.

These immigrants, between the ages of 23 and 28, have managed to gain access through the border breakwater at Tarajal beach, and have been intercepted on the very shore of the beach by the Civil Guard.

The entry of these four immigrants brings to 33 the number of those who have managed to access the city in various groups during this early morning.

The first two immigrants entered at 03:30 a.m. through the Benzú beach -in the waters of the southern bay-, 18 more did so at 06:30 a.m. through the Tarajal beach and nine of them entered around 10:00 a.m. at the beach of the Almadraba, the latter two in the waters of the south bay of the city.

These are the most numerous entries in a single day registered in Ceuta since May 17 and 18, 2021, when more than 12,000 people entered through the Tarajal beach border breakwater.

In the last two years, the accesses had been by small groups of between one and three people, most of them also swimming.
