Immigration: what are the positions of the head of the list in the European elections?

On May 27, the eight main candidates in the European elections debated at length on BFMTV. On the program, questions of the economy, the environment and even institutions were sprinkled throughout the evening. Among the essential subjects, everyone was able to defend their position around immigration, a hot topic for all the candidates. If you missed the debate, here, in our slideshow, are the positions of the leading candidates in the European elections.

Currently, 705 MEPs represent approximately 450 million citizens of the European Union. As the elections approach, the heads of the lists are increasing the number of meetings and speeches to try to gain the support of voters. Although the election is expected to have a high abstention rate, the presidential majority, led by Valérie Hayer, is, for the moment, struggling, far behind the National Rally and Jordan Bardella, who are leading the polls. On May 27, a debate brought together the eight main heads of the lists on BFMTV to provide the latest information to future voters.

During the televised debate, a large number of subjects were discussed. Purchasing power has thus largely divided the candidates with a succession of different ideas such as blocking prices for basic necessities, requested by Manon Aubry (LFI) or the creation of a “climate ISF” for Marie Toussaint. (The ecologists). Among the subjects raised, the theme of immigration did not fail to ignite the discussion in the face of sometimes radically opposed positions. In case you do not know the candidates’ programs, we offer you, in our slideshow, a summary of their respective wishes.
