Israel-Hamas War One journalist dies and several others are injured in an Israeli attack on Lebanon

At least one journalist died and several more were injured today due to an attack by Israeli forces against southern Lebanon, where there has been an outbreak of violence since last Sunday, a military source who requested anonymity informed EFE.

The Qatari state channel Al Jazeera confirmed that two of its employees suffered injuries in the attack, perpetrated against the vehicle in which they were traveling in the Alma al Shaab area, and added that the “Israeli” action ended the life of another journalist, that does not identify.

At least a fourth reporter was also injured as a result of the action, according to Al Jazeera.

The Lebanese National News Agency (ANN) reported that the Jewish State attacked several points this afternoon in the area between the southern towns of Al Dhahira and Alma al Shaab, where exchanges of fire also occurred.

Since last Sunday, the border area has seen a series of cross attacks between Israeli troops, the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah and Palestinian factions.

In this context, the Jewish State has attacked Lebanese territory with artillery, aerial bombardments and, according to Human Rights Watch (HRW), also with phosphorus bombs; while Hezbollah has fired several missiles into northern Israel and Palestinian militias have carried out cross-border infiltration, in addition to rocket fire.

All of this is part of the ongoing war between Israel and the militias of the Gaza Strip, in which Hezbollah threatens to participate directly “if circumstances require it.”
