Schwerin (dpa/mv) – Ascension Day remained calm in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. According to the situation center in the Ministry of the Interior, there were no major operations triggered by excessive partying until early Thursday evening. It was a normal day, said a spokesman in Schwerin. A spokesman for the police in Rostock also reported a “totally quiet situation”.
Father’s Day, also known as Men’s Day, traditionally takes place on the Ascension Day holiday, i.e. 40 days after Easter. Unlike Mother’s Day, it is not officially on the calendar. For many men, however, it is a fixed date. In the past two years, however, the day with its traditionally boozy “men’s parties” and hiking tours has fallen victim to the corona pandemic.
