Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Commemoration for theater director Wolfgang Bordel in Anklam

Anklam (dpa/mv) – A funeral service will be held this Sunday for the director of the Vorpommersche Landesbühne, Wolfgang Bordel, who died on October 28th. The celebration will take place in the theater in Anklam. Bordel had managed the stage for a total of 36 years before retiring three years ago for reasons of age.

Bordel, who died at the age of 71, invented the Vineta Festival 26 years ago and wrote and directed the stories about the sunken city for a long time. With the summer performances on Usedom and with open airs, he had saved the theater in the small town of Anklam over the turn and had a decisive influence on the theater landscape in Western Pomerania.
