Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Next defeat: Seawolves are also subject to Würzburg

Rostock (dpa/mv) – The descent of the Rostock Seawolves in the basketball Bundesliga continues. On Saturday, the promoted team lost 87:97 (44:52) to the Würzburg Baskets and thus left the field as a loser in the third game in a row. The best pitcher in coach Christian Held’s team, which started the season with four wins, was Derrick Alston with 23 points.

The first half was balanced for a long time. Neither team was able to break away significantly. In the middle of the second quarter, the Rostockers seemed to get the game under control, but lost the thread a little later. Würzburg managed the turning point with an 8-0 run.

In the middle of the third quarter, the Seawolves had turned the game around and led just four minutes from the end. In the remaining season, however, the guests hardly came to successful conclusions and could no longer prevent the Würzburg offensive actions.
