Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Tribsees: Another complete closure of the A20 on Wednesday

Tribsees (dpa/mv) – Due to work in the area of ??the large construction site near Tribsees (Vorpommern-Rügen district), the Autobahn 20 has to be closed again today. According to Autobahn GmbH, the work to the east of the existing Trebel Viaduct will last from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the evening. As with the previous closures, traffic will be diverted via the towns of Langsdorf and Böhlendorf.

In October 2017, the A 20 between the Bad Sülze and Tribsees junctions collapsed spectacularly over a length of around 90 meters. The images of the huge hole went around the world. For months, the diversion led to unacceptable disturbances to the peace for the residents along the diversion route. From December 2018, traffic was routed over a temporary steel bridge while the roadway towards Rostock was being rebuilt. Since the end of 2021, four lanes of cars have been rolling over it, while the road towards Szczecin is being built. The work should be completed by the end of 2023.
