Hohen Wanglin (dpa / mv) – After an accident at work in a company in Hohen Wangelin (Mecklenburg Lake District), the police are investigating on suspicion of negligent bodily harm. As a police spokeswoman said on Monday, a 32-year-old metal worker suffered serious burn injuries in the accident. The incident happened on Friday evening in a building materials company. According to previous investigations, the man worked with a welding and burning device on a press, other colleagues were also still working on the site.

Due to a defect in the gas hoses, some welding gas is said to have escaped in an uncontrolled manner and ignited away from the welding point. The 32-year-old suffered severe burns. Colleagues helped him, the fire brigade put out the fire. The worker was taken to a special clinic by rescue helicopter. But his life shouldn’t be in danger. In addition to the police, the State Office for Health and Social Affairs is also investigating in this connection.
