North Rhine-Westphalia: burglars steal Advent stockings with sweets from the daycare center

Bonn (dpa / lnw) – Burglars are said to have pried open a door of a Bonn kindergarten and stole, among other things, 20 Christmas stockings with sweets. “The children are of course already affected,” said a police spokesman on Monday. In the stockings, for example, were chocolate Santa Clauses or tangerines. The investigators are now investigating whether the perpetrators are responsible for a series of burglaries in daycare centers in the area.

According to the police, the perpetrators broke into the day care center in the Brüser Berg district between Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon. They also broke into a cash box, but a police spokesman said it was unlikely that a large sum was stolen. There had been a “mini-series” of burglaries in daycare centers in the area last week.

The district police officer tried to talk to the robbed children and comforted them, said the police spokesman. Each child received a small police bear and a vest.
