Siegburg (dpa / lnw) – The police searched 13 suspects’ apartments in the Rhein-Sieg district on suspicion of spreading child pornography. Numerous mobile phones, laptops and data carriers were secured, the police in Siegburg said on Friday. A 54-year-old is suspected of engaging in so-called cybergrooming. According to their own statements, the investigators found “an overwhelming amount of potential evidence” in his apartment – including ten smartphones, 16 laptops, five digital cameras and hundreds of CDs and video cassettes.
“Cybergrooming” is when people use the Internet to make targeted contact with children and young people in order to sexually harass them and persuade them to exchange pictures or meet up.
