North Rhine-Westphalia: Fire destroys an unoccupied house on a farm

Bad Salzuflen (dpa / lnw) – A fire on a farm in Bad Salzuflen-Wüsten (Lippe district) has destroyed a residential building and part of a storage barn. Since the house was not occupied, there were no injuries, a police spokesman said. The fire broke out early Monday morning. The police initially had no information about the cause of the fire. Renovation work was probably taking place in the house, as the spokesman said.

According to the fire brigade, the house with the adjoining barn was completely on fire when the emergency services arrived and the flames had already spread to the barn. The spokesman said the house could not be saved. On Monday morning, the extinguishing work continued. The fire brigade was on site with around 100 emergency services trying to hold parts of the barn. The extent of the damage could not initially be quantified.
