North Rhine-Westphalia: fire with seven injured: technical defect as the cause

Hemer (dpa / lnw) – The apartment fire in Hemer, Sauerland, with seven injured, including a child, is probably due to a technical defect. The apartment building was examined by fire investigators on Monday, the police in the Märkisch district reported. The fire broke out in the attic on Saturday. There is a high probability of a technical defect. The house was badly damaged by the fire and the extinguishing work and was no longer habitable.

The rescue workers had rescued four injured people from the house. A four-year-old child, his mother, 41, a 71-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man were hospitalized. Three firefighters were slightly injured. The property damage should amount to a higher six-digit amount, it said on Monday.
