Bad Wünnenberg (dpa / lnw) – According to initial estimates, a fire in a shell in Bad Wünnenberg (Paderborn district) caused damage of at least one million euros on Saturday evening. According to the police, no one was injured. It was unclear how the fire could have started.

The shell of the planned residential and commercial building was made entirely of wood and was almost completely destroyed by the fire, a police spokesman said. The fire brigade was able to bring the flames under control late in the evening, but the demolition and post-extinguishing work is expected to continue into the night. According to the police, traffic will be diverted past the scene of the fire until Sunday morning.
