North Rhine-Westphalia: Police searched six objects during raids

Erkrath/Haan (dpa/lnw) – Among other things, with the aim of combating clan crime, the police in Erkrath and Haan checked the rooms of a cultural association, several cafés and an amusement arcade. During the operation on Friday evening, in which the regulatory office, customs and tax investigation were also involved, 89 people were found and checked, the police said on Saturday morning. According to a police spokeswoman, one aim of the operation, in which a total of six objects were checked, was to combat clan crime.

According to the police, the authorities made 21 reports of administrative offenses, including suspected illegal gambling. How many emergency services were involved could not initially be quantified; the policewoman spoke of a large contingent.

The knowledge gained should help the police in particular to further illuminate the previously recognized structures on the controlled objects, the police said. In addition, one also wants to strengthen the sense of security within the population in this way.
