North Rhine-Westphalia: Protection Ordinance extended: Mask requirement on the bus remains

Düsseldorf (dpa/lnw) – The new Corona Protection Ordinance that came into force today is the old one: it was not changed and was simply extended. This does not change anything in the measures either. And the mask requirement in public transport in North Rhine-Westphalia will be extended until shortly before the start of the summer holidays.

The mask requirement continues to apply in medical and nursing facilities such as medical practices, hospitals and nursing homes as well as in state facilities for the joint accommodation of many people. These include, in particular, refugee accommodation and community accommodation for the homeless.

In addition, hospitals and care facilities may only be entered by visitors with a current negative test certificate. The previous test obligations continue to apply to employees and new employees.

The new Corona Protection Ordinance is initially valid until June 23rd. The summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia begin on June 27th.
