Northeast Portland house fire triggers second alarm

One man escaped from a two-alarm fire late Monday at a house located near Northeast 33rd Drive and Marine Drive.

Portland Fire & Rescue officials said the fire broke out about 11:30 p.m.

The blaze grew quickly, prompting firefighters to call for a second alarm, the agency said. The fire was out within an hour.

The man who escaped was not hurt. No one else was in the home. Fire officials said the cause remains under investigation.
