Look for the iconic statue that originally symbolized the Forbidden City in China to adorn the entrance of a new P.F. Chang’s restaurant later this year.

The signature statue has led diners to associate the bistro with an eatery that dubs itself the first multi-unit restaurant in the U.S. to honor and celebrate the 2,000-year-old tradition of wok cooking as the center of the guest experience. When complete in the spot where California Pizza Kitchen formerly operated, Florida’s 19th P.F. Chang’s will feature an outdoor patio as part of its 6,000-square-foot footprint.

"We understand that customer preferences change with time, so we are always working to keep Westfield Brandon fresh and contemporary by attracting new, quality retailers and dining choices," said Dawn Arvidson, Westfield’s marketing director. "The addition of P.F. Chang’s China Bistro is an example of our commitment to the Westfield Brandon shopper."

Every P.F. Chang’s restaurant cooks from scratch in fiery woks. Dim sum is hand-rolled every morning and sushi is hand-rolled to order using USA-grown rice.

Menu favorites include street fare and lighter lunch pairings, including salads, and P.F. Chang’s Classics including Chang’s lettuce wraps, Cecilia’s dumplings, Mongolian beef and Chang’s spicy chicken.

Guests also will have access to P.F. Chang’s extensive wine, beer and specialty cocktail offerings.

"We’re excited to open our doors in Brandon, meet our guests, and share our food philosophy, which has been the foundation of our operations since inception," P.F. Chang’s said in a statement.

P.F. Chang’s is an upscale Asian bistro founded in 1993 by Phillip Chiang and Paul Fleming in Scottsdale, Ariz. P.F. Chang’s has 216 U.S. restaurants, including three airport locations, plus 66 international locations in 19 countries across the globe. Currently, the closest area locations are in Tampa and Clearwater.

In addition to the P.F. Chang’s arrival to Westfield Brandon, the mall also announced several other retailers have plans to expand and/or modernize their stores in 2017 including Cotton On, Victoria’s Secret, Bath & Body Works and Zales Jewelers.
